Buttock Lift

The buttocks lift is a personalized body contouring procedure designed for you by Dr. Daniel, and can enhance the appearance of your buttocks and highlight the muscle that you naturally possess. The procedure may be customized by the use of liposuction, fat injections, or implants if necessary to give the best possible overall result.

The butt lift procedure involves the removal of excess skin, tissue and fat deposits from the buttocks as well as the area above and below to tone and tighten the appearance of the region. In addition to the standard butt lift procedure, the buttocks may be augmented with buttocks implants or fat transfer injections for a more distinctive and shapely figure.

Reasons for a Butt Lift

Patients often seek a butt lift following significant weight loss, which may occur due to change of lifestyle, pregnancy or disease. By undergoing a butt lift procedure, it may be possible to return your buttocks to a state more similar to their original appearance. Patients may wish to further accent this area of their body by removing the excess tissue surrounding it for a better fit in clothing and a more comfortable body image. The butt lift procedure may be done as part of a lower body lift or mommy makeover.

What Happens During Surgery?

The butt lift is typically done under general anesthetic or intravenous sedation. The incisions may be made at the top of the buttocks where they meet the lower back, just below the swimwear line. A strip of fat, tissue and excess skin is removed and the tissues underneath are held in place with internal sutures. The skin is stretched tightly and closed with fine sutures. For some cases, liposuction may be used to remove fat deposits. Enhancement of the buttocks may be performed using buttocks implants or fat transfer injections.

After a Butt Lift

As each patient recovery is different, Dr. Daniel will walk you through your post-operative recovery timeline. Typically, bandages will be applied and a compression garment may be worn for several weeks to minimize swelling and hold the tissue in place. Drains may be used to allow the drainage of excess fluid that accumulates during healing. Bandages may be removed in a few days, and stitches in about a week. Sitting is discouraged for the first week, and normal activities may be resumed without long sitting periods after two weeks. The incision lines should continue to fade for 12-18 months.
