Restylane®

Dermal fillers such as Restylane® can reduce the appearance of troublesome wrinkles such as smile lines, lip lines and more. Restylane is the most popular wrinkle filler in North America today and has been used for cosmetic purposes for more than a decade. The product is made with special cross-linked hyaluronic acid, an important structural component of the skin that promotes suppleness and provides volume.
If you are bothered by wrinkles and lines, Restylane can rejuvenate your appearance by filling unwanted wrinkles and folds. Radiesse®, Restylane®, and Juvederm® at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery are all priced at $500 per full syringe, and a .4cc syringe of Restylane® is $300.

Restylane is FDA approved for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, the lines or wrinkles that run from the corners of the nose down toward the corners of the mouth. Plastic surgeons sometimes use Restylane for off-label applications such as lip augmentation, treatment of marionette lines, and facial contouring in the chin, cheeks and temples.
Your Restylane Treatment
During a Restylane injection, your physician cleans and marks the treatment site(s). Restylane is then injected into and below the dermis, and the area is massaged in order to ensure a smooth surface.
Now with the latest Restylane-L formula (with lidocaine), a Restylane treatment is more comfortable than ever before. A topical anesthetic can also be applied if necessary.
After Restylane, it is important that you avoid strenuous exercise, sun and alcoholic beverages for the first 24 hours. If you experience swelling, you can minimize it with indirect application of ice.
The Results
Restylane temporarily adds volume to facial tissue, and is naturally metabolized by the body, so touch-up injections are needed to maintain optimal results. Fortunately, less material (about half the amount) is usually needed for repeat injections. Most patients return for touch-up treatment after six months to one year.
