Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, can be a great option for men with puffy bags under the eyes or drooping upper lids that impair vision or make you appear older than you are. This procedure reduces sagging skin and wrinkles around your eyes to refresh your appearance and provide a smoother, rejuvenated facial appearance. It is one of the most common surgeries Dr. Daniel performs for men.
Dr. Lee B. Daniel received board certifications in both general surgery and plastic surgery. He specializes in eyelid and facial surgery, offering a range of cosmetic options for men who want to enhance their appearance. Dr. Daniel and his team at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery are known for their customized cosmetic results and exceptional patient care.

Before your appointment, you will first consult with Dr. Daniel regarding your own personal needs and options for eyelid surgery. During your consultation, Dr. Daniel will assess your physique and determine which procedures should offer you the best and most natural-looking results.
Good candidates for eyelid surgery include men who have:
Puffiness (bags) below the eyes
Sagging upper lids with excess skin that may or may not impair vision
Wrinkles or excess skin folds around the corners of their eyes
Dr. Daniel can create a more youthful appearance by combining your eyelid surgery with a brow lift to offer a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation that restores a younger, refreshed look. Men with crow’s feet may consider BOTOX® Cosmetic injections to smooth away the wrinkles at the outer corners of the eye in addition to eyelid surgery.
One of the most common concerns men have about how aging affects their face is the development of drooping eyelids and puffy bags around the eyes. Gravity plays a part in this process, causing the upper lids to fall, while a loss of volume in the lower face can increase the appearance of under-eye bags. A blepharoplasty can help reduce these signs of aging by removing excess eyelid skin and tissue.
Combined upper and lower eyelid surgery usually takes about 2 to 2.5 hours, and surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. Dr. Daniel will make small incisions in the creases of your upper eyelids for upper blepharoplasty, and in the area just below the lash line for lower blepharoplasty. Through these incisions, he can remove fat to reduce the appearance of puffy bags and tighten sagging skin.
If upper eyelid surgery only is chosen, that procedure can be done in the office under a local anesthetic.
While healing times vary from patient to patient, you should expect around 7 to 10 days of recovery time.Dr. Daniel may recommend that you keep your head elevated for several days to facilitate your healing, along with the use of cold compresses to reduce swelling and bruising. If you wear contact lenses, Dr. Daniel will advise you to wear glasses for the first 2 weeks following surgery.
Most men should be able to return to their normal activities a week after surgery, though heavy exercise should be avoided until you have fully healed. Over the first several weeks of your recovery, the swelling around your incisions will begin to diminish and your final results will become more visible.
After the healing process is complete, your eyes should appear more youthful, giving you a refreshed, alert look. For men who are unhappy with their facial aging, eyelid surgery can take years off of your appearance and help you look brighter and more confident.
