Before your first miraDry treatment, a one-on-one consultation will be conducted with one of our experienced medical professionals. During this consult, you and your provider will discuss your overall health, personal goals and expectations for hyperhidrosis treatment and address any questions or concerns you may have.
Did you know that hyperhidrosis can sometimes be caused by an underlying condition such as diabetes and hyperthyroidism? That is why it is a good idea to rule out any root causes first before proceeding with hyperhidrosis treatment. Lab work can be done to determine if any underlying issues are causing your excessive sweating.
If no underlying medical condition is identified, you may be a good candidate for miraDry. MiraDry is a fast-acting, noninvasive procedure that uses electromagnetic energy to destroy sweat and odor glands permanently. Some individuals are able to forego deodorant altogether after their miraDry treatment.
One miraDry treatment only takes about an hour to complete. You will likely not feeling anything during the procedure as your underarms will be numbed before treatment. There may be some swelling, soreness, tingling and numbness after your miraDry treatment, but these after effects typically clear-up within a few days.
As with most procedures, your results may vary. While most people see results after a single treatment, some may benefit from 2 to 3 treatments.
Not ready for a permanent solution to your hyperhidrosis? BOTOX® injections can provide a temporary solution to your excessive sweating. BOTOX works by blocking the release of the chemical responsible for sweat production. While you may need multiple botox injections, the results can last for up to 6 months.
One of our skilled medical professionals can help you decide on the best course of action to meet your needs.
